Cardano ecosystem participants are being urged to upgrade their nodes as the network prepares for the upcoming Van Rossem hard fork. Intersect, a member-based organization within the Cardano community, shared the latest status update via a tweet, noting that momentum toward the hard fork is building across node, infrastructure, and ecosystem coordination.

The Preview environment has moved into the first live governance-driven activation stage. A key highlight is the release of Node version 11.0.1, now fully available and ready for the mainnet hard fork.

Upgrade Alert Issued for Ecosystem Participants

With the node release, Intersect issued an upgrade alert. The notice came after it was confirmed that node v10.7.1 cannot move past the Protocol Version 11.0 hard fork boundary. This means infrastructure must update to v11.0.1 to keep working after the fork. The difference between v10.7.1 and v11.0.1 is minor, Intersect said, and should not seriously affect ongoing integration work.

Cardano Node version 11.0.1 was launched in prerelease earlier this month, around May 1. It is considered essential for safely crossing the hard fork. Additionally, a Plutus cost model protocol parameter update governance action has been submitted on PreProd. Targeted ratification is set for May 16, with enactment expected around May 21.

Cardano Price Action Stays Sideways

At the time of writing, ADA is down about 2.18% in the last 24 hours, trading at $0.278. Over the past week, it is up 11.88%. Cardano continues to move sideways, stuck between $0.22 and $0.31, which suggests a balanced tug-of-war between buyers and sellers. The $0.25 level remains important, and the Relative Strength Index is in positive territory, giving a slight edge to bulls.

If the price holds above current levels and stays above the daily moving average of 50 at $0.252, buyers might try to push ADA toward $0.30, then $0.31. On the flip side, if it breaks below that 50-day moving average, it could signal that buyers are losing control. A drop might take ADA back to the $0.22 support level.
