Crypto analyst Bren is not rushing to buy the dip. In a Nov. 4 post on X, he said Bitcoin has failed to hold its recovery after reaching $78,000, and he pointed to a wedge or channel pattern on Ethereum as a reason to stay light on riskier assets. His near-term view is bearish, though not catastrophic.
Short-Term Caution
Bren described the current correction as being in its last stages. In a video with the post, he put the likely bear-market bottom near $56,000. The price structure since September, he said, makes a higher low more likely than another long slide. That is still a call for patience, not a signal to chase the market.
He also expects early next year to look much better, especially the first and second quarters. At some point, he thinks Bitcoin will set a new record, with 2027 as his rough target. If BTC climbs back above $80,000 to $81,000, he said, market participants may feel more comfortable taking bigger altcoin positions. Until then, he expects buying interest to stay subdued.
Midterm Noise
The forecast lands in a messy political backdrop. Bren wrote that elections are always difficult and upsets are common. The consensus result, in his view, can still leave people asking what just happened. Democrats reclaimed both chambers of Congress after the Nov. 3 midterms, with projected results at the time giving them 255 House seats and 53 Senate seats.
Past midterms have not offered a clean guide. Bitcoin fell more than 45% within 71 days of the 2014 vote and nearly 50% in the 39 days after the 2018 vote. Trader Dealer.eth noted that those post-election lows later became cycle bottoms, with BTC gaining an average of 54% in the 12 months after the events. That history is encouraging, but it is not proof of a repeat.
Price Snapshot
At press time, Bitcoin was close to $78,000 after a gain of almost 2% in 24 hours. The move was small against the broader trend. The seven-day chart showed a drop of almost 4%, the one-month view was down more than 9%, and the asset was more than 27% lower than a year earlier.
For now, Bren’s view is simple: the market may need one more washout before a stronger recovery. Perhaps the $56,000 level will matter. Or perhaps the recent low will hold. Either way, his 2027 target leaves room for a rough road first.
