Google Cloud has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership with global private equity firm CVC Capital Partners. The goal is to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence across CVC’s vast portfolio of companies. That portfolio spans retail, healthcare, financial services, media and entertainment, software, telecommunications, and industrials.

The deal, announced on April 23, aims to help businesses deploy agentic AI systems more efficiently. Under the agreement, portfolio companies get streamlined access to Google Cloud’s AI stack. This includes tools like the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, Agent Builder, Agent Gallery, and the underlying AI infrastructure.

Early Access and Security Focus

One key perk for CVC’s portfolio companies is early access to select Google Cloud AI products. The idea, I think, is to keep them at the forefront of emerging tech without the usual lag. Additionally, Google Cloud is bringing in advanced cybersecurity solutions from Mandiant and Wiz to address AI-related threats. This is perhaps a smart move, given how fast AI attack vectors are evolving.

The partnership also addresses data sovereignty, a growing concern for many firms. Companies operating in EMEA regions, for instance, will get support through localized data residency services via partners like S3NS.

Engineering Teams and Distribution

Another crucial element involves Google’s forward-deployed engineering teams. These folks will work directly with CVC and its portfolio companies to tackle technical challenges and speed up the rollout of AI-driven solutions. It’s a hands-on approach that might actually work better than just handing over documentation.

Furthermore, Google Cloud will act as a distribution channel for CVC’s software portfolio. This will happen through co-sell programs and the Google Cloud Marketplace, potentially expanding go-to-market opportunities for portfolio companies.

Northslope Launches Dedicated AI Practice

In a separate but related development, Northslope has introduced a dedicated Gemini Enterprise Practice. This move steps up efforts to support organizations adopting agentic AI across core business functions. Under this new setup, Northslope will work closely with Google Cloud to design, test, and roll out enterprise-grade AI systems using the Gemini Enterprise platform.

The timing seems right as more companies shift toward what is being called the “agentic enterprise.” In this model, AI agents are embedded directly into workflows to improve efficiency and decision-making. As part of the rollout, Northslope plans to embed its Forward Deployed Engineers within client teams to build mission-specific AI systems aligned with operational needs. The goal is to deliver production-ready AI workflows, with agents designed to adapt over time as business requirements change.

Both announcements signal a growing bet on agentic AI as a practical, near-term business tool rather than just a futuristic concept. The involvement of firms like CVC suggests investors are also seeing real value here.
