Charles Hoskinson has asked the Cardano community to support a new political structure within the network. He believes the project needs stronger coordination to move past its current governance troubles.
Hoskinson said Cardano has shaped most of his adult life. Because of that connection, he has no plans to walk away from the project. He is willing to keep working through the difficulties and push the network toward its next stage.
A Political Party for Cardano
The main point of his remarks was a proposal to create a political party inside Cardano’s governance system. He says growing cynicism and persistent pessimism are making it harder for the network to execute long-term plans. To change that, he wants community members to back a formal organization that can provide clearer direction and more effective decision-making.
If the community gives him enough support and authority, Hoskinson says he will work to reduce the negativity that has slowed progress. He also plans to challenge those he believes are creating unnecessary division.
Moving Past Internal Conflict
Beyond governance reform, Hoskinson wants Cardano to refocus on growth and real-world use. He argues that better leadership would help the network improve its marketing, speed up user adoption, and define a clearer growth strategy. In his view, settling internal governance fights would allow the community to pay attention to developers, businesses, and new users instead of being distracted by political disagreements.
He thinks a more organized governance structure would eventually make Cardano more competitive in the broader blockchain space.
ADA Holders Have the Final Say
Hoskinson admitted that many community members are frustrated. Still, he said he remains confident about Cardano’s future. He believes the community shares that commitment. He also said he still has the energy and determination to make another serious attempt at addressing the network’s challenges.
He also acknowledged that Cardano’s decentralized governance model puts final decisions in the hands of ADA holders and other stakeholders. Even though he is prepared to take on stronger executive leadership if asked, he knows stakeholders could choose someone else. Whoever leads, he stressed, the network needs to unite behind a clear long-term strategy.
The proposal comes after months of governance disputes, including the rejection of several treasury proposals tied to Hoskinson. Those disagreements also led to the cancellation of Cardano Summit 2026. Earlier this month, Hoskinson said the party initiative is close to completion, though he did not give a launch date.
If established, the party would act as a major delegate representative within Cardano’s on-chain governance. It would help coordinate development, treasury use, and long-term decisions. ADA holders would be able to join and vote through the structure.
