The mood around XRP has weakened. Social media sentiment for the token has dropped to its lowest level since July, according to crypto analyst Ali Martinez. The token traded near $1.19 after falling more than 7% earlier this week.
Crowd turns negative
Martinez said online chatter about XRP has turned sharply negative. He also suggested the crowd’s pessimism could help the token. Traders who watch sentiment often look for moments when most people are bearish, because markets can move against the majority. Martinez said XRP may be forming an inverse head-and-shoulders bottom, a chart pattern often read as a sign that a downtrend is ending. He wrote that the bullish trade may not be overcrowded yet, adding that most traders do not seem to have noticed the setup. In an earlier post, he put the pattern’s neckline at $1.60. A break above that level would point to $2.10, though the token is now well below it.
Schwartz draws a line on reply spam
Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz said he has started blocking users who follow him around X to post insults and accusations. He said there has been a sharp rise in replies on other users’ threads, often about topics unrelated to crypto. Many of those replies accuse him of fraud or call him a scammer. Schwartz said the replies flood the followers of people he is talking to, and some of them end up blocking him. To stop that, he will block users who do it, whether the post is critical or supportive. He wrote: “I will block for this whether your post is a criticism or a compliment.” He added that he does not mind criticism or accusations when they contain real points instead of slurs and are posted in a relevant place, such as his own threads. He also offered to unblock anyone who promises to stop, even if they hate him.
Project thread opens
One community member asked how builders could bring new XRP Ledger projects to Schwartz’s attention and suggested a weekly thread for newcomers. Schwartz replied that it was a great idea and opened a thread inviting people to promote XRP and XRP Ledger projects. He also welcomed posts about other crypto projects and non-crypto ventures.
